Would Burt's Stand be considered a business in Mayberry? I realize Burt's
Stand was very short lived, but it sure generated plenty of business until Ben
Weaver at Weaver's Department Store undercut Burt's prices and gave away all
that bubblegum.

Of course, we can't forget the print shop that printed money ( with green ink).

Mayberry seemed to have a lot of new businesses opening up creating jobs for
some and investments for others. There was the Chinese Restaurant, The
(Counterfeit) Printing Co. , the new Meat Market, the Laundromat, Bert's "this
and that" stand, Opie's Lemonade Stand. Then, we had Barn
Someone asked about competing businesses in Mayberry. Early in the episode
about Goober's contest, Goober mentions that there is another gas station in
Mayberry. I think he said that Earl Gilley worked there.

One business in Mayberry that has not been mentioned is Ted's Pet Shop. In
one show (I forget which), Andy is talking to Thelma Lou on the street in front
of Ted's Pet Shop. Ted's Pet Shop also has the distinction of being the only
chain store in Mayberry, because when Andy goes to
1. The new butcher shop in Mayberry was Diamond Jim's.
2. Andy bought the bed jacket at Mrs. Luken's Style Shop
3. Howard met Millie at Boysinger's Bakery
4. The Snappy Lunch was in Mayberry but I don't think the location was
every mentioned.

I am working on a project and could surely use the help of the digest
members.I need quite a few of the names of businesses in Mayberry.
Dewey, The Andy Griffith Showbook has two pages of the Mayberry Yellow Pages
listing all the businesses. Here are some that are listed:
Al's Poultry
In another episode, 'Barney On The Rebound' Crowley's Market is in place of
Monroe's Funeral Home.
It's only natural that a market would move into the old funeral home. They
already had a cooler!

What about the Chinese restaurant that Aunt Bee co-owned for a while? It was
something else before it was made into the restaurant, but I can't remember
what it was.

Ken,
Another business with inside shots might be the Army recruiting
center/induction center. Although brief, it was where Ernest T. Bass went for
his physical for joining the Army just so he could get his uniform to impress
the girls. They did an outside shot of the recruiting center, but
I was rearranging my Mayberry Village pieces today and it got me to thinking
about the many TAGS scenes that were shot within a Mayberry business or
public building. I only listed scenes that were inside the buildings. So I
compiled a list of all those I could think of. I did not include any
