Thanks to Gary and Curt who answered my question about the strange headrest in
"Hot Rod Otis". And thanks for correcting my original premise: it was Barney
that walked past the car.

I'm not sure, it looks like something homemade, perhaps from plywood, due
to the square mounting bracket. That's before my time. I'm just replying to
let others know who may be looking, it's Barney that's walking by the car,
just after he tries to get a free gumball from the gumball machine. Right
TAGS fans,
In the episode "Hot Rod Otis", very early on (before Otis even gets his car)
Andy is walking up to the courthouse. Parked out front there is a car with what
looks like some hind of weird head rest attached to the front seat. Does anyone
know about that? Was it something you could get
I've noticed that and reached the same conclusion. I've noticed some other
location inconsistencies, but it's way yonder too early to recollect them.
But the house next to Andy's (left side) is the first that comes to mind.
There must have been at least five different residents in the first five
Judging by the great job of answering the trivia questions here we sure have a

For all Mayberrians who like to think of themselves as trained noticers -

You trained noticers of excaliber qualifications are putting the rest of us

This has been discussed before. I know of two episodes:
Barneys First Car (Andy and Barn are watching from the front porch as Mrs.
Lesch drives away.
And Ernest T. Bass Joins the Army. As Andy and Barn are chasing ET Bass
through the streets of Mayberry there is a scene that is reversed.

While watching a very familiar TAGS episode yesterday I spotted a short,
3 second clip where the film had been reversed, or flipped if you
will. I noticed it first by observing that something just didn't look
accurate with the Mayberry landscape, and upon further (DVD) review,
found concrete

Howdy Fellow Mayberrians (and Members of the Esquire Club),
Does anyone know who the woman is that stands next to Aunt Bee in the choir
(on our left) with the dark hair in The Church Benefactors? I wondered if
she was either Barbara Griffith or someone else of some importance to Andy

Debbie, I noticed that reappearing necklace too. Girlfriends, especially back
then, often swapped clothing- don't know about jewelry. For some reason that
necklace jumped out at me too.

trained noticers confirm or discount this?
Lastly, there was a recent interview on NPR with Andy Griffith in
which he talks about Waitress, A Face in the Crowd, and some
other stuff. here's the link:

Ok you trained noticers...while we are compiling our Nellie Schwump

that Jackie Joseph(aka Ernest T.'s beloved Rowenna) dancing behind Keevy

If I recollect correctly, Sarah was also the telephone operator on The Real
