[webkit-dev] WebKit on Slack

2020-02-27 Thread Jonathan Davis
Hi folks,

I’m happy to announce that we have launched a #WebKit workspace for
collaboration on Slack. All developers and contributors to WebKit are invited
to join and participate.

The #WebKit workspace on Slack is available at:
https://webkit.slack.com

You’ll need an invitation to participate. If you’ve contributed a patch in the
last couple of years, you’re likely to have already received a direct
invitation by email to the address(es) you used for your contributions.

If you’re just getting started with contributing, you can find a short guide to
contributing and information on joining our Slack channels in the "Staying in
Touch" section of the Getting Started page available at:
https://webkit.org/getting-started/

Feel free to email me if you have any questions about our Slack workspace or
encounter problems joining. Happy contributing!

[webkit-dev] 2017 WebKit Contributors Meeting – Call for Speakers

Hi folks,

We’re just a month away from the annual fall WebKit Contributors Meeting!

This is a reminder to please register for the WebKit Contributor’s Meeting at
https://webkit.org/meeting to reserve your spot. The registration deadline is
Friday, September 29th, 2017, but please don’t wait until then to register.
Spots are reserved on a first-come first-serve basis. It’s filling up, so take
a few minutes to register now and ensure you have a spot.

We’re also calling for speakers to propose talks this year. You can talk about
things you are interested in working on, or areas of WebKit that need more
attention. If you don’t have a large topic, but still have something you want
to discuss with the group, you can pitch a lightning talk. Lightning talks are
limited 5-10 minutes to provide a blitz of quick, focused information.

If you haven’t already submitted a proposal to me, please reply to this thread,
or email me directly with your proposed topic.

Thanks,

[webkit-dev] Fall 2016 WebKit Contributors Meeting – Call for Speakers

2016-10-06 Thread Jonathan Davis
Hello WebKit Contributors,

This is a reminder to please register for the WebKit Contributor’s Meeting at
https://webkit.org/meeting to reserve your spot.
The registration deadline has been extended to October 21st, but please don’t
wait until then to register. Spots are reserved on a first-come first-serve
basis.

Thank you all,
Jon Davis

Nice work Chris! Curious, we have some concepts around the same “blueprint”
idea. I worked on a similar, but different, design. Great minds. I’m not yet
sure what the plans are for my concept art. So I don’t think I should share it
in this forum yet.

You’re right, I think the thin gridlines will disappear at small sizes, but
that’s not necessarily a bad thing at small sizes. I just would be careful to
intentionally remove them at small sizes rather than letting them blur into the
background during resizing. Alternatively, you could change the scale of the
grid and use a thicker weight with reduced opacity. If you are changing the
scale of the grid, you might aim for more symmetry by aligning the grid to the
art elements at the same time.

Lastly, reducing or removing the embossing and shadows would also make the art
feel like it is on the paper rather than being stamped onto or floating above
it. Those are the thoughts I had. I hope they are helpful!

[webkit-dev] Updated WebKit Project Logo

2015-07-31 Thread Jonathan Davis
I’d like to introduce the mailing list to the newly redesigned WebKit project
logo!

The new logo moves the project away from the Safari logo while paying homage to
the project heritage. It carries over over familiar elements from the old icon
including the yellow/gold and compass rose.

Our intent is to start using this art for the WebKit project on a redesigned
web site, presentations and the like to represent the WebKit technology stack.
We do not intend for this to be used as the app icon for WebKit Nightly builds
or for other applications.
