The proposed fix appears to be totally broken, so I'm reopening this. 

Jidanni, the LoggedOut cookie is there so that you *don't* see the skin from a
previous user. As long as that cookie is there, the client-side cache is
suppressed, by suppressing 304 response codes. If you're saying that you can
see the cached HTML from a previous user *without* deleting your cookies, then
please supply a trace of the relevant actions captured with LiveHTTPHeaders
(remove any passwords and truncate session ID and token before posting). 

If you're seeing cached HTML from a previous user and you did delete your
cookies, then we can't do anything about that and it's not a bug.

If you're seeing uncached pages with no username in the top right corner,
implying they were generated for an anonymous user, but with the wrong skin,
then we will need some more details about your configuration since I can't
reproduce any such thing.

Thats because bg doesn't have the js hack that makes opinion look like a second
talk namespace yet. Right now its just a namespace with no pages in it.

 Why en wikinews opinion ns stopped appearing to you is a good question. Check
to make sure you have js enabled, and if it persists write a message  on either
[[n:Wikinews:Water Cooler/technical]] or my talk. (Here is not a good place to
report bugs for that, since the js that does the opinion tab is maintained by
the wikinews community, not the devs, so bug reports relating to that should be
sent to the wikinewsies).

Ummm... can't see them. Moreover, I stopped being able to see the Opinions page
in the English Wikinews, too. Deleted all stored content in my browser, in case
some old css or js spoils the soup - the same result. Any counsel, please?

with this patch try:

namespace=image
mode=gallery
count=5


Any DPL results that are not images will be displayed as a text-only gallery
item, which admittedly looks a tad weird, so restricting the namespace to
file/image is probably a good idea if using gallery mode.

When a URL is not accessible for upload-by-url, you get:

Upload warning
An HTTP error occured: HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden

The latter in big red letters. That error is not particularly userfriendly.
First it does not state WHERE the HTTP error occurred. Nor does it explain very
well the consequence of the error.

Something like

Upload warning:
File could not be retrieved from url 'theurl', because (server does not allow
it|missing file|unreachable server|whatever)
Please try to download the file yourself and then upload the file from your own
computer, instead of using the url to upload.

anything more momproof than "HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden" will do however :D

Yeah, these are all CSS warnings, and they are caused by trying to get a single
CSS stylesheet to work on all browsers. The filter and zoom ones especially are
well known IE tricks.

Spaces between letters are not equal. Letters are jumpimg up and down the
baseline. eg look at "Jadebusen". At "Lang-Lütjensand" t and j interfere with
each other. 

Hence labels look somewhat messy at downscaled images.

Please note, that it looked well at the time I've uploaded the SVG. So
something must have changed in the meantime, what causes these effects.

The problem is that the link is HTML encoded instead of URL encoded.
That is, characters are encoded in HTML entities (&#;) instead of
percent-encoding (or URL encoding) in the form %.

How is the "regular_wikipedia" link built?

The upload code was rewritten in 1.16, which unfortunately means that
ImportFreeImages is incompatible with it.

Use validate_mandatory_checkboxes instead of validate_mandatory_radiobutton

If you have a form field that is a radiobutton, mandatory, without a default,
uses validate_mandatory_radiobutton, which looks to see if the "None" button is
checked.  The form printer defaults the "None" button to the first button, when
mandatory is specified, but, there is no "None" button.  Therefore if the first
radiobutton is checked in this scenario it will always fail validation.

I did that for the italian Wikipedia.

You need to setup a mobile portal webpage in "traditional" Wikipedia and then
specify the complete URL here.
E.g. for the italian Wikipedia it is
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagina_Principale_(mobile).

I'm sure Hampton will sort the rest out once this is done.

Wikia GIF scaling is working. Does this mean it will also work on Wikimedia
sites?

I searched Wikia.com for animated GIFs:

You can use a style="" or a class="" with CSS to accomplish this. This is not a

To be clear about what I meant, when I view the log in EN WP
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:AbuseLog I can, as an auto-confirmed user,
view the details of every hit, Where in AR WP
http://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:AbuseLog I cannot see the details. This is
important to check if rhere are false positives because the filters in the
Arabic version is very strict.

In this particular case it seems reasonable to make the shortcut:

1) Commons doesn't need [[de:Abc]] style interlanguage links, because there's
only one Commons.

2) In the unlikely event we ever get a Comanche Wikipedia, you could link to it
using [[w:com:Abc]].

3) In the really really unlikely event we ever get a Comanche-language Commons
or something that really requires [[com:Abc]] to work, hey, what do we have
zillions of editors for if not manually fixing stupid stuff like this?  They
knew what they were asking for, so just change it and let them fix up the
fallout.

Old change[1] in squid behavior, if your client continues to send data after
receiving a HTTP 417 status code, this will result.

Add 'Expect:' to clear the header in your curl options.
