This applies to all 3 options. I tried it with both JAWS 10.0 and NVDA 2011.0.1, using both Internet Explorer 8.0 and Firefox 8.0.1. Neither of these combinations were very easy to use, because of the non-standard radio buttons. *I wasn't even aware that there was a ratings feature until I tried to view the article feedback. (2) If I use some i-commands (see IBus Pinyin doc, basically it pre-inserts nothing into the document but displays some candidate words based on the command), it works as well. (3) If I input some characters (in this case the character picked automatically is pre-inserted into the documents, and a candidate list is shown and picking words in it replaces the pre-inserted one, or I can press space to accept the automatically picked character and the candidate list disappears), the pre-inserted character is automatically accepted and shown in the document. Selecting text via the keyboard and overwriting it doesn't work as expected in
Safari 5.1.2 / FF 8.0.1 - Mac OS 10.6.8.
If I double-click a word and overwrite it everything works fine. The same
doesn't happen if I select words via the keyboard.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Move the cursor to the end of the word "Interface" (after the "e") in the
first headline of: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:VisualEditorSandbox
2) Backward-select the word "Interface" character by character using the
shift+left arrow OR select the entire word using option+shift+left arrow
3) Overwrite the selection by retyping the word "Interface"
4) an "e" appears from nowhere resulting in "Ienterface"
5) if you try the same select & overwrite trick with the word "interfaces" in
the second headline of the SandBox an "s" appears ("isnterface")
This suggests that the last character of the selected word gets somehow
inserted after the first character when you overwrite the whole word.
I can show you in 30 sec how to reproduce it if the above description is
confusing.

When I type "usario:u" I get more completions of usernames starting with "u". When I do this on enwiki, though, I get similar results. Hrm... but testing "usaria", I see a completion for "Usuaria:Miss Manzana/Retiro de nominación" so I don't think this is fixed yet. (A typical Japanese input method intercepts key events, shows candidate converted strings with kanji, and lets a user choose from them.) My environment is Ubuntu 11.11 and IBus 1.3.99.20110818 with Anthy. I guess the same situation happens with other Japanese input methods, and other input methods which try to show candidate lists at large, including Chinese ones. We tested 1.18beta and submitted several bug reports, but in the end we found that too many users are using image editing tools that don't respect EXIF rotation marker. Thus they manually rotate images, but keep the marker anyways. Since this is intransparent to the user, on biowikifarm we turned it off. My own analysis is that it would be an exiting feature to show the user two images: the unrotated one and the rotated one (if different) during the upload process, and ask which to use. This would add the missing transparency. Reading about the huge frustration on Commons, it might be a good idea to turn it off. I think before turning it on, a bot should actually reset the rotation marker for all images on commons prior to the next experiment of turning it on. This gets resolved after enabling and disabling one of the side-by-side views, so may indicate that we did some text layout before text size adjustment got applied.
