Echo renders a single "Alerts" tab atop the fly-out that by all accounts looks like link. Except it's not clickable (no pointer cursor on hover, no underline on hover). Internally it seems it is a real element, with rule ".mw-echo-overlay .mw-ui-progressive.mw-ui-quiet" applied, giving it "pointer-events: none;". Thus the browser will not register the cursor being on the element and no style changes or events are fired as a result. This seems like a design/usability flaw. I know from other versions or states that there can be multiple tabs up there, so I guess in my state this is the only tab available, and its' already selected (naturally) and thus has no action tied to it. I tend to work on many small issues spanning multiple projects and teams and I have found that having a single place to track work in progress and completed work makes communication with management and clients about my personal availability and priorities easier. I have been using external tools (GitHub and HuBoard) for this tracking, but this suffers from the same sort of synchronization and discoverability issues as WMF teams who have chosen to use external tracking tools to manage their cumulative backlogs. I propose creating a standardized faux namespace such as "User-" or "Personal-" which would be combined with a username for such per-user tracking projects. "User-" seems like a nice choice for the color of this bike shed due to the correlation with the wiki's User namespace. Today, as an index, https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/ continues to be useful, but it's a bit tedious/awkward to update currently and the page content could use love. https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/ should be moved to a wiki page on https://wikitech.wikimedia.org and a redirect should be put in place so that https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/ redirects to the wiki page. The wiki page will allow for much easier editing, meaning a more up-to-date page and we can easily link to GitHub or git.wikimedia.org or elsewhere, with syntax highlighting or serving the raw files. I think https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/ is a helpful cheatsheet/reference guide, but it doesn't need the additional infrastructure (such as highlight.php) to continue providing the service it provides.
