Because I was told by ops my setup for WDQS can't be part of official repo until it's production-ready, so not while it's in labs. But I hope adding shinken configs for labs setup is OK. The answers to your questions: 1. manifest/role/wdqs.pp here: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/216403/ - it's not a part of official puppet repo 2. The URL probably would be http://wdqs-beta.wmflabs.org/bigdata/status and probably also http://wdqs-beta.wmflabs.org/status. 3. Look at `modules/beta/files/shinken.cfg`, `modules/beta/manifests/monitoring/shinken.pp` and `manifests/role/labsshinken.pp` for how it's done for beta cluster. pinging URL and matching regexp should be fairly easily doable. I can probably help if you can list accurately: 1. The puppet role that's applied to instances that this monitoring should target 2. Which urls to hit 3. Which regex to check 4.
