@Lydia_Pintscher right now we are proposing building one for Wikivoyage where
there some seem community buy in.
In terms of Wikipedia we are purely experimenting. The app already is doing
this and mobile web is exploring how it would work there. This is how we

Implementing a wikibase skin will not really help this. The current skin system
is too restricted and would need to be changed to support you in this. Feel
free to remove the Wikidata project if you don't want to track this work

@Matroc It seems that the Wikidata property is misleading then, I had imagined
all projects would be sharing the same value. It might be better to have a
property per project.

Mmmm. I was using action tokens which is what the current JavaScript code uses.
I was requesting centralauth token using it and edit token. Switching to csrf
and using action=centralauthtoken do seem to work.

I can't reproduce the code that was causing the issue. The only thing
actionable I can suggest to make this easier for frontend developers is in the
error message returned by this API when complaining about an invalid token
state whether it is the token itself

If the references are rendered in a simple way to references vie the Cite
extension then this should just work (mobile displays these in drawers that
appear at the bottom of the page)

The section uses tables and is an extremely long overwhelming list so without
better organisation, I'm not sure what purpose it serves in a view mode on
mobile. It seems like it would be better rendered by button press on an overlay
in JavaScript as a secondary view

2 options here
1. Wikidata implements its own version of search (yey more code that does the
same thing)
2. We provide better abstraction in core so that the search code on Vector just
works with Wikidata and the search code on mobile just works with Wikidata

Mobile has no plans to support global site gadgets right now. They make it
really difficult to debug issues and lack a code review process which is pretty
important when it comes to exposing JS code to mobile users.

I would suggest this approach to keep the first version minimal:
1. Implement optimised page banners for desktop/mobile experience that use
wikidata property.
2. Allow override of banners with something akin to {{PAGEBANNER:Different
banner.jpg}} (similar to display

anything is up for grabs - the goal would be to build something generic which
meets Wikivoyage's needs (if that includes table of contents stuff so be it!).

@Sumit my opinion on Phase V: I think you should de-scope this from your GSoc
proposal. {{PAGEBANNER}} should be completely optional and simply used for
overriding the value from Wikidata. For this reason I think an editor might not
make sense here as a first version

Maybe @matmarex has some good ideas here. Overriding the h1 and having full
control of rendering views seems to be something we should support.

Note: $parserOutput-setTOCEnabled( false ); can be used to disable the initial
table of contents.
As a starting point I would look to enable a one level table of contents. If
you can do this great but I don't think this is vital for the success of this
project

We should reserve the name at least and then decide on end of project - we may
result in one extension or 2 extensions... (I'm not sure how complex the
Wikidata aspect will be :-))
