It's concerted spectator abuse targeted against one particular player, which
is typical trash talk one would expect in professional sports, except that
it's in Malaysia, the player is Jewish, and Malaysia happens to dislike
Israel.

Hello,
Some Wikimaniacs already landed in Israel, but most of you will be
flying in the next few days.
The travel agent who sold you the plane ticket must have told you
this, but let me re-iterate it, because it's very, very important:
When you go to Israel, arrive to the airport three and a
Hi,
General advice: Don't be afraid. But bringing your hat/cap would be
nice (I left it at home too, though). TLV itself provides you a wifi
connection for free but power is only available at departure floor,
the top floor.
Which document would you carry on? Good questions. What they asked me

To those who don't know what is meant by considerably hotter and pretty
hot (;-))... according to wunderground.com the maximum temperatures are
around 30-33 centigrades with some clouds. See also

In Jerusalem today peak temperature will be about 36 C which is really
unusual... :( The average maximum temperate for July in Jerusalem is 29
however because Jerusalem is dry and not humid most people find the weather
here more tolerable than Tel Aviv.
The next days will be better, and I hope

Thank you Amir for your information, since it was not given by my own agent.
That said, it depends on where you'll start if you really have to
arrive 3h30 before the flight departure. In AMS, my boarding hour was
set 1 hour before the departure itself as usual but the boarding gate

A couple of people commented privately and told me that i may be
exaggerating. I am not exaggerating: on all my direct flights to and
from Israel in the recent years the agents requested that i be at the
airport 3 and a half hours before the flight. I am actually happy
about it: it's a great
I flew over 20 times in and out of Israel in the last couple of years and
was never in the airport more than 2 hours before the flight, and everything
was fine. However, for Israelis the procedures can indeed be quicker.
From what I know the recommended time to be in TLV for tourists is 3 hours
I agree with Harel,
I also few Dozens times, and I never got more than two hours - two and a

If you, for example, fly from Marseille to Frankfurt and then to
Tel-Aviv, then it may be OK. But double-checking with your travel
agent or airline company won't hurt.

My boss frequently travels on relation Belgrade-Tel Aviv and he said
to me that it is necessary to come to airport earlier just in Tel
Aviv. In Belgrade (and probably in the rest of Europe) everything is
regular, which means that usually just 30-45 minutes is good enough.

How early you need to get the airport depends on where you are flying
*from*, not where you are flying *to* (apart from whether it is
domestic or international, of course). I would suggest people look on
the airport's website for advice. For example, London Heathrow airport
says:
Ahah. No, I live in Clermont Fd and the airport is about 10 mn from my
house by car. That's a small airport and there are few passengers.
Getting in planes is really really really quick and easy. Anyone could
be jalous :)
I have a transfer in Paris. If there is a fail, it will be in Paris, but
Eventually, everyone makes it to the flight - also in Tel Aviv. One just
needs to come on time and be patient enough during the security checks,
tiring and annoying as they might be - getting annoyed will just be the
wrong thing to do as it might bring on even more questioning. They won't

Haifa Central (a.k.a Haifa Merkaz) is near the Tiltan college, which
is the venue of the Wednesday evening party.
It is the third station in Haifa, after Hof HaCarmel and Bat-Galim.
Go to Haifa Central/Merkaz in these two cases:
1. You arrive to Haifa on Wednesday between 19:00 until 22:00.
I guess that means in my case (flight arriving TLV 23:10) sherut is the only
sensible option?

Please consult the train schedule. Trains from the airport go all night long

You can always take a train + taxi, though I think Sherut will be easier for
you - as I already wrote to you a long while ago.

Yes, sherut is the easiest option for you.
You can also take a bus from Hof Hacarmel station to the hotel, but
taking a sherut from the airport will be easier.
