I am curious. Was there some sort of automated cleanup going on? Can
 Bengali wiki editors enlighten me.

Gerard,

It'll be good if someone who can read both Kannada and Devanagari scripts can
do
this. I'm not proficient with Kannada script. Will give it a shot if nobody
else
volunteers for this.

Santhosh,

Thanks for the pointers.

Hoi,
Transliteration IS done for Serbian and for Chinese. So when it can be done,
please help us by providing the scripts that enable such transliteration. It
will make your project that much more readable and therefore effective.
Thanks,
GerardM

My guess is that it is 100% possible, Gerard. I proposed doing this for
Konkani,
Kashmiri, and if at all acceptable, for Punjabi.

Hoi,
To what extend is it possible to transliterate from one script to another??
If
this can be done only if it is for a few scripts, it would be a huge
optimisation.
Thanks,
 GerardM

Malayalam script in Kerala. And Arabic is some regions.

Most indian language transliteration is easy.
Check this website http://girgit.chitthajagat.in/ and contact them for help.

Any chance of getting another meetup then?

Sundar,

There is already a research team from Konkani Association, Mangalore working
on this. I hear that Infosys has also donated some resources to work on
this. I've been working closely with Konkani association, Mangalore. Much of
the discussion that happened in Mangalore meetup was centered around the
multiple scripts issue. I suggest that you join the initiative.

Let me know, I can add you to the loop.
