representative from Samskrita Bharati has not informed about this grant.. as
Shri Hari Prasad Nadig said we should meet some department officials to
speak about this... we may also try and meet some Minister or some senior
MLA too rega
Shiju had conducted a workshop on the basics of editing Wikipedia last week
in Sanskrit Bharati, Girinagar (which is probably the same organisation that
TOI refers to). I had also been there, and am in touch with the
representative from Sanskrita Bharati. Surprisingly the representative

As the Sanskrit wikisource is waiting for its creation, there is additional
value for them to cooperate :). They do not need to buy into Wikipedia in
order to be happy with a source for sources.

A quick note to say yes, do know the people who moved this request. We will
need to be validate this as is with all things government.

Personally, I'd be careful not to jump to conclusions just because they've
used the word "Wikipedia" in the announcement.
Two years back, the budget said "Rs XYZ Crores for Wikipedia in Kannada" and
that turned out to be for a project the government wanted to do "on the
lines of" Kannada Wikipedia
Times of India in Bangalore front page article about the Karnataka budget says
there is Rs 1 Cr for Sanskrit Wikipedia.
Anyone know anything about this?
