Gerrit makes many mysql queries for some page requests; this will improve
the latency of such pages. Additionally, the new db will have both slow
and sample based query profiling in ishmael which should assist with
further optimizations.

I found the problem which caused GIF thumbnailing to thumbnail only
the first frame of animated GIFs (we'd set $wgMaxAnimatedGifArea to 1
in our debugging before disabling it).
GIF thumbnailing is now back on again. Let me know if there are any

that the
problem was not the software update, and a scap would exacerbate the
issue. The problem resolved itself spontaneously.
We need to fix things up so the scap script is less liable to push
machines into swap :)

would become impossible, unless the server goes to the extra effort to
return a redirect.
I assume the solution to this would be a Vary: X-Accept-Datetime header.
