Let me say that the pricing mentioned for the 2.4 gear is single unit
"suggested" pricing. Volume discounts are available from all Trango
STARS and the 2.4 gear available at DoubleRadius currently has a $35
rebate direct from Trango. If you are interested in Volume pricing for
any Trango product line. Contact me directly.

Here is an update :

Joe Miller runs the WISP in Gulfport / Biloxi / Pascagoula and surrounding
areas - We run a network "that" went from Mobile, Alabama to Dauphin Island
alabama with a tower site located at WLO on the coast.

Leroy Clark from Mobile is going to inspect our tower site and see if it's even
standing. If not - we will do a wireless shot of 34 miles to Pascagoula from
Mobile, Alabama.

Who is in route to help Joe Miller ? Could we stage here and head that way on
Thursday ? That would give us 2 days to get all gear shipped in and ready to
roll.

I have secured a 10mbps link from Mobile to do this shot with. This will get
his Pascagoula network back up and online and Joe Miller has already stated he
will donate his network and resources to lighting up the shelters along the
coast.

I will be providing him bandwidth from our Mobile location or our coast

Let me know what you can get me YESTERDAY to get this done with... Don't care

Hey folks,

We are in desperate need of some 900MHz APs and client side gear as
well. We have numerous shelters that are covered up with trees and we
are either going to have to " relay" the signal in with 2.4GHz or we
could hang some 900 gear and be done and down the road. We could use 10
Aps and twice that many SUs right now.

Please shoot me somethinng from somewhere

Thanks,

Hello, this is Jeff Mabry - SlingShot. I am in Gulfport, MS helping out at the
Harrison County Disaster Command Post. Do you know anyone in this county that
wants to volunteer? We need volunteers to help distribute and sort food and
supplies. Wireless Internet Service has dropped low on my priority list at the
moment.

Yesterday, I was told they (volunteers and National Guard) found an apartment
complex with 225 people that had not had food for 6 days. 155 were children.

My mobile is 618.534.6407. Cellular is better but still spotty.

When I get back in wireless mode. I have 2 - 2 ft antennas (Radiowaves). Used
Link CX 5.8 units, and a Proxim Tsunami QuickBridge 60 link.

Please call if I can help.

I am just going to say here are some pictures that I took today. I
didnt take the time to get the crappy ones out :-) look at your own

http://65.82.69.13/photo/explorer.php?folder=08-08-2005/

I want to comment a moment on how well we have all worked together and
how easily everyone has gotten along to accomplish the tasks before us
each day. I am proud to be a part of this effort and I have made some
fine friends this week. I must also state that there are some really
smart guys here!! I think there will be a singing - dancing and all
around "shin-dig" under the tent with live music Friday night - - see
pics

It will be a most excellent day as we get the rest of the gear that
will enable 400+ evacuees to have an internet connection, VOIP and PCs
set up.. There are several more in the area and I will head down to
check them out in the morning.

Sharon cooked a tremendous pot of red beans and rice with about 10lbs
of sausage for supper. I am thinking that they are all going to have to
sleep outside tonight ;-( if the music continues at the current rate/db
level.

Scriv, It appears that I have been booted also. For what reason I am not
sure, as I have done every thing in my power to work with both camps to
"Get the job done"?. If this in fact the case?, I will most assuredly
use my influence(If I have any?) and connections to pass on the fact
that I have been a neutral party, but yet still pay the price for
something that I have not done?. While I know of quite a few others who
have a problem with Michael(Bullit), I for one was not on that list, but
perhaps it's time I join it?. I will send him a private note to see
where the problem lies, and judge what I do next by his response. I am a
fair man, and will continue to be so unless I have reason not to be?. I
will keep You all posted with my results.

[WISPA] Trango Broadband Wireless Returns to Proven Direct Sales Model for U.S. Market

2005-11-10 Thread Shayne Rose

Trango Broadband Wireless Returns to
Proven Direct Sales Model for U.S. Market —Decision reflects
company objective of getting closer to end customers in their home market, and
availability of increased resources at its U.S. headquarters— SAN
DIEGO, CA — November 9, 2005 — Trango Broadband Wireless, an industry leader
in fixed-wireless broadband connectivity solutions, announced today that it is
transitioning back to direct sales for the U.S. market. "Returning to a direct
sales model for the U.S. is clearly the right choice for the company," said
Colin Boyd, vice president of sales for Trango Broadband Wireless. "One of the
great things about Trango is that we are always open to better ways of doing
business. For the U.S. market there are a myriad of distribution options
available to us, and we have tested several. But it became crystal clear to us
at the recent ISP-CON show, where Trango gathered for a day with many of its
customers, that one thing they need from their manufacturing partners is close
coordination on issues ranging from product and feature requirements, to joint
marketing programs, to even lobbying initiatives to ensure that the voice of the
fixed broadband wireless industry is heard by government and consumers. We have
a great product—real broadband access—and working closely together is the best
thing for Trango and our U.S. customers." Todd Easterling, vice
president of marketing said, "This decision is in lockstep with our new branding
strategy whereby we are going to basically scream from the rooftops what
differentiates Trango from our competitors. In the next couple months you will
see a new face on the company. Frankly, Trango, to a great extent, has been the
quiet giant in the wireless industry—a group of modest and talented engineers
going about the introduction of extremely innovative products, but rarely
communicating the advantages of these products as well as we should. The bottom
line is that Trango is virtually the only end-to-end fixed broadband wireless
manufacturer in the industry. Not many customers know that we actually own a
world-class factory and design and build every radio we sell—whether it is
point-to-point backhauls or point-to-multipoint mass subscriber networks," added
Easterling. "For our U.S. customers, this is a huge advantage. You can't get
closer to the product than buying directly from the factory that tailors that
product exactly to your needs. And likewise, Trango can't get closer to the U.S.
market than selling directly to the people who install and use our technology
every day." Trango Broadband Wireless has also added to its sales and
marketing team recently, which has increased its capability to serve its home
market directly. The company hired a new vice president of marketing, vice
president of sales, CFO, director of finance, and doubled its engineering
department. It is also adding to its applications engineering, quality control
and product management departments. "We are more than capable of not
only returning to the direct sales model in the U.S., but also building on the
programs that previously played a critical role in the company's high growth,"
Mr. Boyd said. "The products practically sell themselves. That's not the
challenge. The goal of this initiative is to work hand-in-hand with the U.S.
customers who actually deploy wireless networks in the U.S., right in our
backyard — the ‘boots on the ground' input that drives winning products and
winning sales programs." Mr. Boyd added that this change only impacts U.S.
distribution, where Trango's headquarters and regional sales people are based.

Attention Trango
