Seems like most (rural) environments have a noise floor in the -95 to -100dBm range, so a -65 to -60 is ideal. If your noise floor is higher, adjust accordingly. I think the point I was trying to make is that you don't want to turn it down to a value *lower* than -65dBm, or your modulation rates could suffer - even if you have a good noise floor. -- --- - Nick Bright- - Vice President of Technology - - Valnet -=- We Connect You -=- - - Tel 888-332-1616 x 315 / Fax 620-331-0789 - - Web http://www.valnet.net/ - --- - Are your files safe?- - Valnet Vault - Secure Cloud Backup - - More information & 30 day free trial at - - http://www.valnet.net/services/valnet-vault - --- This email message and any attachments are intended solely for the use of the addressees hereof. Re: [WISPA] Cambium ePMP2000 config question
If you set it for say -80 it will lower the power if you're at -60 or -70 down to make it hit -80. Now if you have a -130 noise floor then maybe that'll function, though poorly, but you'll never ever hit the higher modulation rates that need -65 for example. -60 is good, just leave it there... [WISPA] Cambium ePMP2000 config question
Just starting out using cambium ePMP gear. For configuring multiple APs on a single tower the frequency reuse requires all APs on the same tower to have their Subscriber Module Target Receive Levels set the same. What are the pros and cons between SMTRL of -60 and say -80? What should these be based on experience of those cambium users out there that have successfully deployed these.
