Basically they took a 2.4 GHz platform and made it 900 MHz. Some sort of
filters or something to block out 2.4 should be in place, but I hear
issues with Ubnt 5 GHz and 3.65 GHz (down converted) causing each other
problems. There was a bad shipment back when they first started, too.

Members,
I was just called by a company with a large client who is looking for 10-100
Mbps service to 70 locations around the US. They are willing to assist in
getting roof rights to help the individual providers accomplish this service
level. Although service is needed on a temporary basis,
Where are the 70 locations?

I am sure that is why they are wanting the database updated To
contact only those people that are serving the zip codes of the client

Well if I'm 5 miles away from a zipcode and have a 400 foot tower ready to
throw up a backhaul on there and they can pay for it, but I'm not already
in that zip code then they'll never know I'm next door =(

Exactly. We've acquired many high value accounts that otherwise would have
been lost if the client got the incorrect impression that we couldn't serve
them.
A better approach would be for Rick to list the 70 ZIP codes and let the
membership speak up if they feel they can service the area.
At this point, they seem to be unaware of the database. I did not tell him
about it yet. It was not their idea to update the database, it was mine as
I need cooperation from the individual wisps to bring business to your door.

We have facilitated several data circuits around the country. Should we
simply list every ZIP Code in the country?

Tranzeo is down-converted from 2.4GHz on the 902 series. With their
superior shielding doubtful it would cause an issue. I have a
Ubiquiti 2.4 Bullet not the HP series connected to a 24db grid on
CH11, a NanoStation2 AP on CH1 and a 902-11f on 907 MHz on a water

Brad,
I don't think our database could accept that many and it would not give us
an accurate picture of wireless coverage either. The member's zip code map
is also generated from this information. I assume when more details are
known, you will get the opportunity to bid on various locations,
Rick,
Exactly the point I'm trying to make.listing every ZIP Code in the country
wouldn't do the potential client or potential provider any good. That is
why I suggest listing the ZIP Codes the potential client is interested in
and the providers that feel they can serve the area immediately (or
I don't know how hard it would be, but maybe putting on there that other WISPs
may be in the area and to check nearby ZIP codes or to return the closest X
number of WISPs NOT already mentioned (if any are).
That would solve most of the concern about missing an opportunity you could

I will not know the zip codes until WISPA reviews and signs an NDA. That is
now in process. I'm merely pointing out the importance of listing zip codes
so I can quickly reference that list for initial contact opportunities. We
have to start some place. I realize that many operators will expand
All:
If the zip codes are in the database, I can do mileage calculations based
on the need. I can calculate who/how many WISPs are providing coverage
within 25 miles of a certain zip code. I can do this quickly and
efficiently if the database is updated and would even be able to respond to
