CGI is Perl. If you'd like to send me a copy of the CGI script, I can take a look and see what I could do. You shouldn't have to use SMTP authentication, instead just have the script input Reply-To: headers in the email it sends to you. Or simply change the From: header to that of the client/customer. I work a lot in PHP and Perl, I know both of these are capable of doing this for you without using SMTP authentication. I know this is not what you asked for but I felt that the look and feel of a website is as important as functionality.
