This is usually the problem we'll see, sometimes you have to remove and
reinstall the firewall in older machines.
Can't say I've had to do that with xp machines.

ME was 98 with features and more bugs.
I've
had a family member with ME & an intractable network
anomoly and finally de-installed the TCP/IP, then de-installed
the
Ethernet, then rebooted...and it found Ethernet and I
re-installed the TCP/IP then I could get it to
work.
