Same problem appears in Opera 7.54 and FireFox for windows.
In IE6.0 you don't see the white bottom borders before you increase the text
size to maximum ( if increased means :make the text bigger? Not so
comfortable with my English)

looks like a typo.
Try changing it to iso-8859-1 and it should work better.
