I have an X application I wrote using gcc-2.96-85 on RedHat 7.0. I've
upgraded to gcc-3.3.1 on RedHat 9 (XFree 4.3.0). I'm running into some
strange behaviors in the new version.
- the window does not refresh when uncovered
- the mouse callbacks are disabled

It seems to me that the C langage version of ucs2any.pl developped by
Ben Collver and other NetBSD developpers is now stable enough to be
included in XFree86.
I've put a patch against the current XFree86 CVS version at

Matthieu,
I appreciate the notification in advance of committing something like
this. I am doing a build test right now on Cygwin. I will let you know
if I find any problems.

Hi harold,
I would suggest a reinstallation. Looks like you have a minimal
installation of Linux on your system. Its always wise to install the entire

tracking now says that the patch has been commited to the CVS. So I'd
like to get the fixed driver from the CVS. I'm running RedHat 9 with
XFree86-4.3.0-2 RPM.
I did `cvs checkout -r xf-4_3-branch xc` and now am facing

the modification dates of the hidden files in /root.
