I installed the driver using the intel tar package. After
that I tried the startx command .But it is not started and I got the error

Depends. There's no foolproof way without hacking the
X-server. There are some tricks that work if you are only
running a custom app with no window manager (some kiosk applications
fall into this category). xsetroot will usually do it in that
case.

I installed xfree86 on my system and when i went to
the test screen it was bigger then my screen and after that i installed kde and
the task bar alone is about a third of the screen i have pics if you need to see
them
I used the xvidtune command to change the display
because the display is bigger then my screen and its giving me a cant open
display message how can i fix that so I can adjust the size to fit my moniter
