Okay... I'm running with my MailRoot in /var/MailRoot
using the following command
# MkUsers -f users.file -r /var/MailRoot -m
and I get a blank mailusers.tab...?
users.file is in the format of
domain;username;password;Real Name
is it that I need the web page after real name or something else
Odd question, perhaps meaningless... Do you, by chance, have a * alias
specified for your domain (not for a user, but for the actual domain alias)?

The error message I sent earlier is all I get from Outlook.
If I try a telnet session, I only get the 550 error, I don't have any
mail headers with it.

The curious nature of the problem is that everyone can access port 25 from
inside our network but when we issue the RCPT TO: command it then instantly
returns with the 550 Mailbox Unavailable

I finally got my PSYNC to run again... now running xmail with -Md so
I can see any errors, I get the following:
ErrCode = -3
ErrString = Network kernel error
any clue as to what this means?

hotmail.com in any config files? (it shouldn't be)
If it still doesn't work, copy and paste the contents of your server.tab
file here so we can see it.

Errr... Jumped the gun there, switching on SMTP auth doesn't work either.
No custom domains set up and no processing. Even if I use a web interface on
the server, it doesn't work either with the same error...

Turn smtp send authentication on in your client, it can't hurt and maybe
your problem is that you're being denied because of relay restrictions.
Remember for send authentication it's the same as pop authentication,
full email address and password. Have you got any custom domain setup?

Oh, I thought you couldn't send mail to the server. Can you send mail to
local domains from your mail program? Is it that you can't send mail to
outside domains? If so have you turned on send mail authentication in
you mail program?

I would agree with you normally but the whole thing was configured by
xpai.
It will not let any mail out but it will receive, and I can connect to
the server via port 25 on telnet and can send mail internally to the
server.

How did you create the domain and users? If you created them manually by
editing the tab files then there is probably a mistake or you did it
while xmail was running. You should use one of the management programs
to create domains and users or use the ctrl protocol.
