Hi,
currently we are using a really old version of Red Hat Linux and the
mail system it comes with. I want to move it all over to Xmail on a
Windows machine. There are loads of forwards, pop3 accounts and lists
(support@ goes to 6 people etc). Is there any quick and easy way for me
to transfer
Hi -
Using XMail - compiled on SuSE 8.1 Linux.
It seems I am getting Mail Loops and undeliverable errors to QMail
with 1.14rc1. 1.12 seems OK. I am still testing, so I am not yet
sure this is the case - will be back to you soon...
Anyone else out there suffering similar woes?

You might want to complement that with :
# mkdir temp local
Do you mean I should have:

Hi, how can I turn off relaying in xmail?
I've removed all entries from smtprelay.tab, but it seems like my server is
still accepting relays.
Thanks.

It seems like other people are using my xmail server for spam (I can see the
error spam messages still coming through). Which config files should I be
modifying to just turn the relay off?
I've removed all entries from smtprelay.tab and restarted the server, but I
can still see the spam error
Here's what I've got in my smtpreleay.tab. I wouldn't remove everything. And
don't forget to restart the server just in case:
[smtprelay.tab]
192.168.42.0 255.255.255.0
127.0.0.0 255.0.0.0
First line is for my local network to allow relaying :) and second is just
to allow the local
Have you made any changes to the server.tab file? If so what did you
change/add? Have you made changes to any other files?

Subject: [xmail] how to turn off relay in
Thanks. I understand that relay is not spam. What I'm seeing are error
messages that are generated because the recipient account is no longer
active, etc.
The spam messages are from an outside sender to someone not in my company.
I don't mind allowing relay if I can stop the spammers from using
The only changes I've made to the server.tab file are to set the default
domains, postmaster email, etc.
I was wondering if I needed to change the DefaultSmtpPerms in server.tab,
but I haven't changed it yet.

I had set it up as a service on W2K. I don't think I had turned on logging
before.
So I just went to the command line and added the -Sl option to enable
logging.
So if I see the ERELAY in the log file does that mean that I'm relaying?
No, the line with ERELAY
Unfortunately no, I've tryed EXACTLY as you say below before ( other
addreses of course) and gor Relaying denied :(
