whats the recommended compiler for the xfree source? i have gcc 2.97 im pretty sure, but i cant successfully compile xfree to save my existance (not from official release source and not from cvs) are there any libs i need or anything else that i should make sure i have? im running a redhat 7.2

Support for it is much better in the cvs version allthough the xv isn't working 100% yet [HINT HINT Alan... :)]. Allthough if you don't wan't to use advanced feat. as xvideo and just want to run 1024 or whatver then look at linux-laptop.net under Toshiba Tecra 8200. It has the exact same video
