I'm sure I went through this loop, back when it started to fail (maybe
2–3 years ago). If it had worked, I would have been delighted.

like in: "apt purge dolphin" and "apt install dolphin"?
No icons. After "apt purge dolphin" doing "find . -name "*dolphin*" and
removing what
