Although there's no direct option to paste plain text, you can apply
Format -> Remove Formatting subsequently to get the same effect.

(FWIW, since I often need to 'paste plain text' in different apps, I've set
up a Keyboard Maestro action mapped to Cmd-Shift-V, but there are plenty of
other ways to skin the same beast :-), e.g. "Plain Clip.app", probably
QuickSilver or LaunchBar, or any of the autotyper tools like TextExpander
or TypeIt4Me with a plain-text shortcut for the clipboard contents.)

Re: Why do WebArchives take so long to load?

Is it trying to pull data from the network? How can I tell Yojimbo
"Just save it for offline use"?

It does appear that Web Archives are not strictly static
representations of web pages. It's not Yojimbo's fault: that's the way
Apple made web archives.

My solution was to use Firefox and the Scrapbook Extension. I save a
static copy of the page using the Scrapbook extension, then save that
copy to a web archive in Yojimbo. I used QuicKeys to automate the
process. Takes a second or two longer, but the web archives load much
faster. Since I use the Firefox adblock extension, my solution has the
advantage of saving ad-free copies of the web page.

Yojimbo Notes

2008-01-28 Thread John Stephens
I like storing my notes as plain text, and I also like having the
option of linking things together, using tables, or other formatting
if I need to. Yojimbo lets me do both, converting plain text to rich
text on the fly if I choose to add a hyperlink or edit a table. Nice:
I have plain text notes and rich text notes living side by side in
perfect harmony.

My problem is when I paste formatted text into a plain text note.
Doing this in TextEdit and other text editors I use begets plain
text, which is what I want. In order to do this in Yojimbo, I have to
press Shift-Alt-Command-V (Paste And Match Style), which may be
Apple's punishment for trying to use keyboard commands. I'd like to
get a behavior like what I have in TextEdit, where I can paste in
text and remove the formatting. I couldn't find a preference pane
that dealt with this. Any ideas?
