[Zappa-List] one happy camper
ZPZ on DVD arrived in the mail - again - but this time contained the disc 1 I'd been missing from?my first order of ZPZ on DVD. I've only watched it once but I'm already excited. It really brings back the magic of seeing them in person. My 19 year old's favorite song is Son of Orange County on disc 2. I'm sure next time ZPZ comes through on tour we'll go as a family to see them again. Though divorced my boys' mother attended the show with us it was family entertainment all around as Frankie intended it. I'm sure I picked it up somewhere online, if not here then maybe a.f.f-z - but you're right, I don't ever remember reading the term in either Motherpeople or Society Pages. Rest assured it's a fond diminutive. It does my heart good to see Ray White getting in there with a different mix of songs but at the same time it breaks my heart to think of Napoleon being treated unfairly (again). imho YMMV David See me on MySpace at: www.myspace.com/davidblanglois -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Zappa-List@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tue, 15 Jan 2008 9:12 pm Subject: Re: [Zappa-List] Re: Nappy's Fate? It appears to be sold out. I had to call to get my money back because they sent me two disc 2's no disc 1's. Been a fan of Frank and family since I was a kid. Slowly working on my collection of FZ material, fortunately there is plenty to go around. First question... Does anyone know why the ZPZ DVD is no longer listed on Barfko-Swill? I had put off buying it until the show in Houston, which I missed because of work-type related circumstances beyond any One individual's relevant control. Now, it is not listed on the website, and of course, the online store moderators don't seem have a clue. Any idea why? Thanx, Cliff More new features than ever. [Zappa-List] regrets
I've been on the phone with Musictoday, the distribution company for Barfko-swill, only to be told that they are completely out of new stock. In other words, I am stuck with two copies of disc? Two (of the ZPZ DVD) no copies of disc One. They are issuing me a refund but the money is not the point. They said they didn't know when more would be coming in that demand had been higher than anticipated. I'll probably end up hunting the set down on eBay I hate to do that. How do you like it? I'm talking about the new DVD covering the albums Apostrophe Overnite Sensation. There is surprisingly little new material on it. It does for the first time feature Gail Zappa in an on camera role. It includes the Roxy version of Montana so it's got that going for it. Of course the tour of the Frank Zappa vault is maddening due to the staggering quantity of tape on file there. The Zappa family is sitting on a goldmine for the rest of their lives. rightly so! Re: [Zappa-List] Beefalo
After playing this thing for the umpteenth time I've got to testify - if there are as many tapes in the Zappa library as I assume, the bulk of Zappa's best music hasn't even been released yet. I say that not based on any wild imaginings about the UMRK but based on the quality of this concert recording. This is right up there with FZ:OZ; if we could only get regular yearly releases from them then I could die a happy (subgenius).
