RE: [Zappa-List] Vine order confusion (have a look at this)

2005-12-20 Thread Jim L

Yes the vine
originator could create a new table for the vine. Its easy enough I
think. Perhaps Ill give it a test run the next time I have something good
to vine out.

Seems like a good idea, Jim.We may just have
to try it out to see if and how it's going to work.

I'm not sure how eachdatabase would get
started. Would this be something that the vine originator would start
out?

Well it won't tell who
had it last unless folks remove their name from it after they send the discs
on. Some will and some would forget. We would probably still need to send email
to the list with progress reports. It should keep the list in order though. Still
would be a radical change and I don't think we should do it unless everyone (or
at least a large majority) thinks it's a good idea.

If it will eliminate all doubt about who is in what order
to receive something and who had it last then I think it's an idea whose time
is long over due.

Mr. Skull

What would you guys
think about keeping the list of vine participants on the website? It should
eliminate the getting out of order problem. The list of participants would be
stationary instead of traveling with each email and running the risk of
becoming mangled. We could make a database for each vine. Check out the example
I made here.

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Zappa-List/database

Play with it. Try
adding yourself to the example vine by clicking on add record. Try
making an all new example vine by clicking on create table from the
main database page the link goes to.

Just an idea I was
kicking around for a tweak to the system. Check it out and say what you think.
To complicated, to hard to get to, you like it or whatever.
