Re: [Zappa-List] Pruners to our vines
It was the BBC Radio Jazz from Hell shows, and the GTOs album was there as a bonus, everything in data format, not audio, in the same cd. Now, I was the last person to pass it along, and the story then goes pretty much as Marco´s. Except that he is a smarter person than I am. While he´s trying to keep the MITB vine alive, I only tried to contact the next person in the vine list (to see if he got the cd I had sent) and never got an answer. A long time has passed since then, but I suppose I can make a copy of my cd and send it to the next person in the list after the member who couldn´t do his part, if you guys still want it. I don´t have the names list anymore, though. Re: [Zappa-List] Pruners to our vines
Well, unless they had a very good reason I would drink to that one! I know it can be hard juggling when there are a lot of vines doing the rounds, but unless some sort of life crisis occurs there is no excuse for not forfilling your obligation. Now I am not without sympathy for anyone's plight, but a promise is a promise. Just give the person the chance to explain and a chance to make amends first before exclusion is what I think. - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Zappa-List@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2005 2:06 AM Subject: Re: [Zappa-List] Pruners to our vines That is a fine idea for certain situations. Re: [Zappa-List] Pruners to our vines
Hmmm... I do not (and will not) support a "list" of "deadbeats"... I rather favor Richard's idea of skipping over those who do not respond in a timely manner. Many members are on the digest system; many more do not receive any email from the group at all, they prefer to check the site. But that doesn't allow for negligence on a viner's part. Being part of a vine means keeping track of that vine... No "lists" please, it fucks with my digestion. What exactly can you do but hop over someone that isn't answering and is next in line for the vine. You can try a few times over a couple of days to get them to respond through the list, but the vine must move on efficiently to be fair to the others. I would guess you then just add their name to the end of the linage and hope that they are available when it reaches the end of the line.
