[Zeitgeist] [Bug 682207] Re: Deleted Tomboy notes appears on AJ

2010-11-28 Thread Manish Sinha
I am not sure if this is a tomboy data-provider related problem.

Tomboy DP's only work is to report 4 events
* Open Note
* Close Note
* New Note added
* Note Deleted

So this means that if a client wants to show the notes, it's better to query
the daemon with the following information in the template
* Note URI
* Interpretation as DELETE_EVENT [1]

Or you can get all the events from the template. Set the note URI and
try to fetch all the events sorted by time. If the last event is a
DELETE_EVENT, then it means the note is no longer available

[1] http://zeitgeist-project.com/docs/0.5.2/ontology.html#symbol-zg-
deleteevent

2010-11-28 Thread Stefano Candori
well, there is actually a delete_event..so it's not a tomboy related problem..
It's GAJ that should not display item with a DELETE_EVENT Interpretation...

Re: [Zeitgeist] [Bug 681887] Re: Moving Zeitgeist dbus Bus name from gnome to Freedesktop

2010-11-28 Thread Morten Mjelva
I think it's mostly about what type of message we send people, and how
we're perceived. Now that we're also in KDE, and looking at other
platforms besides that as well, it looks strange for us to be in the
GNOME namespace.

 FWIW there's no official sanctioning of what you can do with
 freedesktop.org namespaces. It's not a standards body or anything.

I think mhr3's suggestion about using two namespaces for a while is a
good solution.
If we keep our existing gnome namespace, but deprecate it, and at the
same time move to freedesktop for 0.7, we could remove the gnome
namespace in some later release.

Maybe we can do that over the next 3 releases.
So for natty we will have 2 namespaces while for natty+1 we will have only

[Zeitgeist] [Bug 681887] Re: Moving Zeitgeist dbus Bus name from gnome to Freedesktop

2010-11-28 Thread Markus Korn
I don't agree with changing the namepsace for dbus names.
There is simply no good reason why we should make this move. After all the
gnome part is just a random string. And noone on KDE, Windows or whatever
platform should have a problem using this string.
Changing the name, maybe by even using *two* names at the same time for a
period of time is adding extra complexity to our work, and I don't want this -
unless someone comes up with a very good reason (like zg would be banned from
certain systems if we keep on using 'gnome', etc.)

I've commited(revision 1133) the changes that Randal Barlow has
suggested. I think that for the moment it's a good compromise...
