Hi

Now that the Due date plugin is included in the task plugin, I am missing the
useful little popup window to set due dates. Hitting CTL-. (period) used to
work but doesn’t now. Is that the expected behaviour on a Mac?

Re: [Zim-wiki] make task disappear from list before start date?

2017-05-12 Thread Christoph Held
Am I pleased? No, thrilled would be a better word.

A few observations:
Configuring the task plugin is incompletely implemented, the checkbox “consider
all checkboxes as tasks” is ignored, all checkboxes are considered tasks
regardless. In my case that’s hundreds of tasks now (I use checkboxes more
lightly, mostly for short lists or things inside the Journal)
The same is true for “sections to ignore”, including “Journal” here still shows
all lines with checkboxes in the Journal section
I haven’t found how to activate the popup window that used to come with the due
date plugin, however, I have the sneaking feeling that something was carried
over from my version 0.65, which is existing alongside the 0.66 now. Opening
the plugin window (in order to install the “re-anable OSX menubar”) claimed it
did not exist, yet some of the keywords I used in the old version to indicate
tasks were present.

The start date and due date syntax is brilliant, and the greying out (or
letting tasks that aren’t active yet disappear completely) works for me.
Excellent!

Will keep testing

Re: [Zim-wiki] make task disappear from list before start date?

Hi Christoph,

Checkout the latest version, start date is supported, and the "Hide active
tasks" I mentioned will hide them until they are due. (But be aware, latest
version is very fresh, and has some bugs that may bite - hope to have a
more stable version in a week or so.)

@Joseph: I saw your previous mail, please put in github issues as a
reminder and I will get back to it

Regards,

Jaap

Re: [Zim-wiki] make task disappear from list before start date?

2017-05-11 Thread Christoph Held
This is not quite what I meant as the current implementation still requires me
keep track of the start date outside of Zim.

The examples that I have to deal with are typically things that I learn about
today and know that I cannot do anything about them until a certain date and
ideally, I would like to have the task switch from non-actionable to actionable
(and thus appear in my task list) automatically based on a simple date
comparison.

Could the excellent due date plugin be used for that, say by producing a syntax
[s:2017-05-18][d: 2017-05-25]
the first indicating the starting date before which the task is not visible in
my task list
the second being the due date that we know already?

I love the way this little popup window functions BTW, simple but very
efficient.

Thanks
Christoph

[Zim-wiki] make task disappear from list before start date?

2017-05-11 Thread Christoph Held
Hi

maybe I overlooked the obvious but is it currently possible to make tasks
disappear from the task list before I can do anything about them?
Example would be I need to respond to a funding call but the call is not out
before a certain date in the future.

Thanks for your help
