[ZION] The Two Towers (LOTR)
Unless you've read at least two of the LOTR books this year to prepare for it, I don't think you are really excited about the movie coming out. Last year to prepare for the first movie, I read the Hobbit and Fellowship. This year, I've read both Two Towers and Return of the King (I was going to wait until next year, but just couldn't leave Sam hanging there for an entire year. Won't say anything more so as not to give away the ending of this movie). BTW, I can now be classified as a Harry Potter fan. I read all 4 HP books in 8 days, books 3 and 4 in the last three days (and book 4 is 750 pages). I'm really impressed. JK Rowling's first book is a little weak (movie is better, though the book explains a lot), but the rest of the books are much stronger. I can't believe I'm going to have to wait for book 5 to see what comes next, now that Voldemoort is as strong as he is. [ZION] Teaching Correct Principles
Even if there are no nonmembers on the list right now (are you sure about that?), that doesn't mean that something couldn't be forwarded outside the list, either on purpose or by accident. It happens, you know. We've seen it happen. Just look at what people in politics/government have said lately, thinking no one was looking around. One Canadian leftist is praying to maintain her government position, because she called our president something off the record, but didn't make sure no one else was listening. Then there's the idiot Senator from the state just to my left on the map who praised Strom Thurmond by stating he should have won the presidency in 1948. Well, Strom only ran on one issue: segregation, so Trent Lott was showing either his stupidity, or his racism (or both) when he made that statement. We never know who's listening, or who is going to take our statements out of context, or spread them around the Internet. BTW, anyone else feel that Trent Lott should step down as Majority Leader? I've disliked him since he first got into that job. There are many decent Senators that would do a much better job, without looking like he just took off his white hood. I don't need to worry about converting the Lamanites here regardless of my manner of stating the truth. Obviously I wouldn't say these things in a mixed audience, but I shouldn't have any problem getting agreement from other Latter-day Saints. I think it will happen. I was told as a Protestant that studies were then underway about what to do and how to rebuild that temple and so forth. I have no reason to doubt this. Stacy. RE: [ZION] The latest from Iraq
Marc Schindler: By now I'm sure all of you have heard of the material the Iraqi government turned over to the Security Council. The U.S. took it before other Security Council members could look at it, with the excuse that they wanted to make sure certain parts having to do with recipes for weapons of mass destruction didn't get made public. But this doesn't make sense -- ___ Of course it doesn't make sense. It didn't happen that way. That wasn't the reason, that wasn't the excuse, and the U.N. kept a copy of the complete document while the U.S. made more copies for them. [ZION] There is no free market.
Jon Spencer favored us with: Unfortunately, the article you gave us talked about the evils of RESTRICTED CAPITALISM, not free markets. I mean, how can a market which includes a dictator who manipulates the market be called a free market? How can a central bank controlling the money supply be considered a free market? How can a market that is heavily taxed to promote a social agenda be considered a free market? How can a market regulated with tens of thousands of pages of regulations administered by dozens of independent federal regulatory agencies be considered a free market. There is no free market. The word has no meaning in today's America. People who speak of free markets first need to learn the meaning of laissez-faire. There is no nation on earth today with a free market. If we define fascism as an unfree market where private property is absolutely controlled by the central government, then the USA today is a fascist state. // /// ZION LIST CHARTER: Please read it at /// /// http://www.zionsbest.com/charter.html /// / ==^ This email was sent to: archive@jab.org EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?aaP9AU.bWix1n.YXJjaGl2 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^
