Thanks, James, for the sensible reply. In fact, there are good reasons that some tools are CLI-based, and others have a GUI. As I alluded to in my original post, I am strongly in favor of some tools being at the command line, such as zpool, because they are simpler and less prone to error.

Thanks for your message. I tried to download and install this, but there kept appearing more packages that I didn't have, had to download, and install. Eventually it was one i couldn't find (gdk-pixbuf-config). I think in the bigger picture this is one of the things holding back broader
