If you go to the control panel of a running Zope, you'll see it display
Running For with the correct number of seconds. So there's obviously an
existing way for the server to know when it was started, just look how the
control panel does it.

Are there any projects where there have been attempt to build zope
clients which can work offline and when online they will be
synchronize with the ZEO storage?
Other solutions with zsyncer are also interesting, right now I just
look for info about existing attempts.
