If you publish your book in Word format I'll convert it in something
more usefull like restructured text. Can you send me book in binary format?

There's the question of "accessible to whom?" here.

Right. I was refering to that small subset of computer users
who have access to and know how to use programs that read and
write word files, as opposed to the majority of people who word
process with Tex variants.

There's the question of "accessible to whom?" here. -1 for binary formats.

(Yes, I know OpenDocument docs are XML inside, but they're incredibly
human-hostile.)

*Or* do it right and convert *.docs to DocBook, afaik there are several
tools for this, mostly commercial but some grant a free license for
non-commercial purposes.

I put all the sources into a special repository that is sponsored by zope.org.
Unfortunately, the publisher only worked with Word documents, so the final
editing of the book would have to be converted back to the LaTeX master
documents, so that new HTML and PDF versions could be generated, If you want
to work on this and then start improving the code, I'll help you get started.

Stephan, may be it is possible to publish your book again in Wiki
