I put all the sources into a special repository that is sponsored by zope.org. 
Unfortunately, the publisher only worked with Word documents, so the final 
editing of the book would have to be converted back to the LaTeX master 
documents, so that new HTML and PDF versions could be generated, If you want 
to work on this and then start improving the code, I'll help you get started.

Word or Open Office. :)

*Or* do it right and convert *.docs to DocBook, afaik there are several
tools for this, mostly commercial but some grant a free license for
non-commercial purposes.

There's the question of accessible to whom? here.  -1 for binary formats.

(Yes, I know OpenDocument docs are XML inside, but they're incredibly
human-hostile.)

There's the question of accessible to whom? here. 


Right. I was refering to that small subset of computer users
who have access to and know how to use programs that read and
write word files, as opposed to the majority of people who word
process with Tex variants.
