LEAD STORY

XP SECURITY GLITCH IS SERIOUS | News: The Associated Press

Just in time for the holidays -- a huge hole in Windows XP. Microsoft
has released a free fix for a glitch that allows hackers to
commandeer all XP operating system software. A computer user doesn't
have to do anything except connect to the Internet to be at risk.
Fixes for both the Home and Professional Editions of XP are available
-- Microsoft says install the fix ASAP -- this glitch is serious. If
you're running the Universal Plug and Play feature on Windows 98,
98SE or ME, you need the patch.

THE MISSING LINK | eBay halts "immoral" auction of woman

Knowing how to sell yourself may get you a good job, but it will get
you kicked off eBay. Kay Hammond, 24, of Britain put herself on the
virtual auction block as an online bride. Kay's play was not okay
with eBay. The bidding got up to 10 million pounds before eBay pulled
the plug, calling the auction "immoral". Hammond says she's just
looking for a husband and hasn't had time to solicit squires the
old-fashioned way (like at Sotheby's). She's now available on QXL.
Unless you're a healthy male Brit between 24 and 35 and are willing
to pay for shipping, don't bother.
