LEAD STORY
Microsoft urges immediate fix of critical IIS flaw  (SearchSecurity.com)
Microsoft has issued a critical advisory, warning users of a vulnerability discovered in a component of its IIS Web server and Internet Explorer Web browser. The flaw exists in several versions of Microsoft Data Access Components, components that allow programs to access and manipulate databases, and it could allow an outsider to take over a Web server, spread an e-mail virus or spawn a network worm. Millions of PCs running Windows 2000, 98 and 95 could be affected, too.

.NET Server 2003 full of "nice reasons to upgrade" (SearchWin2000.com)
There may be no breathtaking improvements in Microsoft's upcoming .NET Server 2003 operating system, but one expert who spoke at Comdex this week said there are still a lot of "really nice reasons to upgrade." Author Mark Minasi told attendees that not only is .NET Server's follow-up three years away, but the product also reaps the benefits of Microsoft's "Trustworthy Computing" initiative.

Microsoft: Titanium will run on Win2k (CNET)
Microsoft is trying to clarify some confusion about the relationship between Win2k, Titanium and .NET Server. Company officials said this week that the next version of Exchange (Titanium) will, in fact, run on Windows 2000, but some of Titanium's features will run only on .NET Server. Titanium is due in mid-2003, while .NET Server should ship in April.

Amazon to sell scooter for high rollers

If you're head over wheels for the Segway Human Transporter, scoot your browser over to Amazon.com. The device, formerly known as "Ginger" and "It" before it segued into Segway Human Transporter, has been rolled out to the general scootin' public via the online retailer. Only about $5,000 separate you from "the future" of getting around. Deliveries begin in March, but a few lucky people will get their hands on the handlebars by Christmas.
