The server OS is old and needs to be upgraded. That will take care of the Mailman version. Brian and I just haven't had a chance to get together and do it. Upgrading the OS means reconfiguring Mailman and the wiki and making sure nothing breaks.
I'm on a couple dozen mailing lists that use Mailman, and I get monthly password reminders from six different servers on the first of every month. I thought everyone agreed this was the Mailman norm. I've never heard any complaints about it until now. Of course i don't use any high-value password for Mailman subscriptions. But we can turn it off if most people don't want it. I personally would like to switch to Google Groups, which has better searching. -- Mike Orr <[email protected]>
