nate, do you envision this being python-specific, or more general? i
*love* the idea of meeting to discuss and work through concrete
problems, but i'm knee-deep in scala nowadays. that said, functional
programming concepts are useful for pythonistas as well...

Great idea! I'd love to get in on this, but not tonight.

There was some mention of people getting together and working on
code, whiteboarding interview problems (could be code-related or
data structures/algorithms or system design), etc at the last meeting.
I'm taking some time off from working for a bit (not sure how long)
and would be interested in getting together in smaller, more focused
groups if anybody is interested in that. Could be for working on a
small implementation of something or talking about problem solving,
etc. I'm not sure of a place where we could get a whiteboard, but
if the group is small enough, pen and paper could work, too.
One requirement for me, for these particular things, though, is that
we have some sort of agenda -- again, I don't care if it's problems
or coding, but I think it should be more focused than our last
meeting was (this is not a general statement about our previous
meeting -- no connotation), by comparison. If people want to
chit-chat afterwards (whenever "afterwards" is) or go get drinks or
whatever, I think that would be great.
I'm available most of the time these days. I could even do
today/tonight.
