With -d ntpdate doesn't actually synch the time, it just shows the adjustment 
it would do if run without -d.

-d implies -u, which makes ntpdate to use an unprivileged port (>= 1024) 
instead of the default ntp port 123. Seawolf's default firewall at "medium" 
security level blocks privileged ports (<1024). Try ntpdate -v -u, and check 
your firewall configuration.
