I have the Acer 8x and it gave lots of problems. It would make a cd with
out error during the burn which was not readable almost anywhere other
than the drive which wrote it. I tried many different media from cheap to
expensive and it was the same for all of them. I made sure I had the
latest firmware. I have not bought any more Acer's since.
