I don't think so. Why would anyone want to damage libreadline?

Any other files modified? Could be an indication of slow harddisc
corruption. If you run "rpm -Va" (--verify -a), make sure you pay
attention to non-config files. You could install "tripwire" to
automate the checking of important system files.
