To Jochen, if you have trouble building your own custom kernel, try
using Red Hat's /usr/src/linux-2.4/configs/kernel-*.config as
starting point. It doesn't enable CONFIG_PPPOE, btw. Also, I don't
understand why you don't try any kernel from Raw Hide if you really
insist on using a newer kernel.
