After updating from kernel 2.4.2-2 to 2.4.3-12 with Redhats' up2date-function my xmms-player no longer plays any sound.
Playing DVDs with xine or watching mpegs works fine! When I select a playlist-entry witch points to a SHOUTCast entry it connects normally and starts playing very fast - the seconds are counting much faster then they normal do - but there's no sound. When I call the soundcard-configuration with "setup" it detects a "Ensoniq|CT5880" - that's correct. When playing the testsound it says: "Unable to reset OSS driver. Possibly accessing an invalid file/device."
