2.4.7 is the kernel version of linux.
-10 is the redhat build number for this kernel.

2.4.9 is a later version than the 2.4.7 version.

as far as i know 2.4.7-10 is the latest version of the
kernel from the regular redhat ftp site.  not sure
if there is a later one in the contrib directory.
i tried to check, but it was too slow, and i
had to go.
