Right, which is why I you should leave it unpartitioned.  If you format 
it with DOS fdisk, it will format it, and then you will reformat it 
during the install.

You should really try Linux fdisk.  It is fairly easy to use.  Only type 
in w (write) when you are certain that you want to write out the 
partition ;o)
