I tried to configure the same and it was not working. Finally I could do it through the GUI. Pls select network configuration and add, select the interface and ...... you must be able to do it. Only thing is that you may have to 'edit' the nick name.
I changed it to eth0:1 I dont know why the GURUS @ redhat trying to make things complicated. sorry, if there is another way (easier) to do it. The fact is that I could not figure out one. I am mostly into RH6.2 and 7.1 The redhat-xxxx.. configuration tools in 7.3 need the X window system running. Someone pls. can tell me a tool as handy as 'linuxconf' (which runs on a regular console) in the 7.3 distribution ?
