Hi Leonardo, the big thing to watch out for with modems is that they are not "winmodems". Winmodems are modems that have had some onboard hardware removed and replaced with drivers written _only_ for the various Microsoft OSs. There are _some_ winmodems supported under GNU/Linux, but in general they're trouble. You can find out more here: http://www.linmodems.org/ And more specifically you can see if a modem is a winmodem or not and whether anyone has it working succesfully here: http://www.idir.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html If someone tells you they have a ManufaturerY.X.Z running be careful to get the actual "lspci" output which provides an unambiguous ID because a lot of cards have very similar names. I'm running this with no problems: 00:0d.0 Serial controller: US Robotics/3Com 56K FaxModem Model 5610 (rev 01) (prog-if 02 [16550]) Subsystem: US Robotics/3Com USR 56k Internal FAX Modem (Model 2977) HTH, Oisin Feeley _______________________________________________ Seawolf-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/seawolf-list
