Just to get you started... RSA has a good FAQ file.. http://www.rsasecurity.com/rsalabs/faq/index.html If you're interested in ECC at all.. Certicom has a great FAQ into ECC... And speaking of good crypto books.. Here are some suggestions: "Applied Cryptography" by Bruce Schneier This is a great book for breadth of knowledge.. A good intro into many aspects of cryptography. Plus you don't even need a strong technical background to read it, and it reads pretty smoothly.. "Cryptography : Theory and Practice" by Douglas Stinson This is the depth of knowledge book. This one is hardcore. There are practice problems in the end with questions like "Here are some ciphertext/plaintext pairs of 6-round DES. Find the key" =) Understandably, this one needs some technical background.. Or at least it'll be a really slow read.. These are the two books that I normally recommend to people... And the two that have been the most beneficial to me (aside from some of Neil Koblitz's grad texts). Applied Crypto being the first crypto book I read, and Stinson's book forcing me to really understand certain concepts.. Anyway.. Hope this helps.. - -- Jon Erickson Cryptologist and Security Designer Caspian 415.974.7081 D49B 4561 1078 0A72 DDF3 7250 8EF4 4681 587E 41DD 1728748 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 7.0.3 for non-commercial use <http://www.pgp.com> iQA/AwUBPHpuoI70RoFYfkHdEQIiKwCfamWTso9Ktz5TTZ+I5e4LluMuceAAnj5c xUXHDy8zyhGPJ5PfJGvlXsj8 =EDBo -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
