I really dont know whether that is the case or not. I was a total
newcomer to cryptography, when I started with Applied Crypto. It was
kinda OK to me. I mean I wont claim I understood 100% of what was
written, but the way the concepts are explained is lovely. I have not
gone thru the book you have mentioned, will do so some time soon. You
never know, it might actually be written better than Applied Crypto.

PS: Most people assume, anyone interested in Crypto will have some
math/engg background to support it. Hence maybe the book Applied Crypto
gets suggested immediately.
